Heres a look into the highlights of Barbara & Micheál's wedding. As you may have read from one of my previous posts that this wedding was a really chilled out low key civil ceremony which took place in the cool Ice House hotel, Mayo. I knew we were going to get some interesting shots on the day from when I first met with the couple. 'Vintage, Arty, Different' were the key words in what they were after. Happy days for me :)
Barbara & Micheál were amazing to work with on the day and so easy to shoot with when it came to the few posed shots. But then a shot or two of Tequila does help before hand. It might not be a bad idea to have a bottle in my camera bag in future for any couples feeling nervous about their photos getting taken. What a great idea...

Elinchrome Ranger RX Speed AS and Elinchrom Quadra RX Pro Kit
Ive been looking at investing in a good set of portable lighting equipment for a while now for location work. As a user of Elinchrom equipment I was excited to see their new range of portable lighting (the Quadra RX kit). The only problem was that I couldnt decide whether to go with the ultra portable Ranger Quadra RX kit or its much bigger and powerful (and expensive) sister, the Ranger RX Speed. 400Watts or 1100Watts?? The Quadra kit would be perfect for most jobs but lacked the power needed to overpower the sky if I needed to darken it for a real dramatic photo.
Anyway, how happy was I when the company that I usually buy my lighting gear off had a used Ranger RX speed kit for half its normal price (€2300). In the end I decided to go ahead and buy both kits.
Below you will see A photo without using any lights and then another photo with the Rangers on full power. These were all taken in the middle of the day.
Really looking forward to using them proper.

Photography session on Westport House grounds
Two photos from a recent photo shoot at Westport house grounds, Mayo.
We were going to just take a few photos here in the studio but I was really hoping for a dry day as I really prefer heading out to a nice location to do these kind of photos.

Hazel & Ray's wedding in Tourmakeady, Mayo
After meeting with Hazel & Ray earlier this year in Dublin I knew this was going to be a no-fuss chilled out wedding. Well I wasn't wrong anyway. It was the handiest wedding Ive covered to date location wise as the church was pretty much across the road in Coláiste Mhuire and the reception was held in Paddy's Thatched Pub which is only over the road too.
We pop over to Paddy's the odd Sunday for a bit of grub as the food is amazing there and is overlooking Lough Mask. (A lovely pint of Guinness too).
As you can see the weather wasnt looking the best during the first part of the day but by the time we got to the pub it was blue skies for the rest of the day.
