Our VW 1974 Latebay camper van

We have her nearly two months already now and absolutely love it. We really can't wait for the the spring/summer to bring it for a long drive and who knows, maybe even sleep out in it. Its bit nippy for that right now but we are taking lots of trips to the beach for a walk and a cuppa tea inside after.

This VW camper was imported in from South Africa. The good thing about this is that it is right hand drive and coming from such a warm climate and away from the coast meant it was pretty much rust free. After it arrived here the good people in cosyclassics took it apart and restored it. It was such a tough decision choosing the colors both inside and out and it was a very last minute decision that made it the way it is now. We were going for a darker exterior and a brighter interior originally. So glad we changed our minds as it feels so cosy this way.

A few extras included a fancy steering wheel, power steering, a good sound system, new engine along with getting the whole thing lowered a little. Pretty pimped out eh!

See some of the 'before shots' down at the bottom.

  2. Who would have thought that the images shown on that "before shots" are actually that beautiful campervan? Cheers to that amazing revamp!

    1. Cheers Alex. Now if we can keep it looking like that and avoid it rusting.

    1. Hi Christobel,

We would love to hire it out for wedding transport where couples could be chauffeured by us but the insurance seems to be nearly impossible to get as its a camper rather than a minibus.
So unfortunately we wont be using it for weddings for now.
