Sharon & David's wedding at Ballintubber abbey & The Lodge at Ashford, Mayo

A sneak peak into one more of the weddings I covered over Christmas. Sharon and David are a fantastic couple. Great fun to work with and so easy going. We started the day off at the Lodge at Ashford in Cong where they were both getting ready.
The ceremony took place at the beautiful Ballintubber abbey, Mayo.

As you can see from some of the photos that it wasn't the dryist  of days. (but I think it did rain for nearly all of the weddings I covered over Christmas). We didnt manage to get any photos outside the grounds of Ballintubber abbey with the rain being a bit too heavy. Luckily enough there was a break in the bad weather to pop outside and get a nice portrait when we got back to The Lodge at Ashford in Cong.

Wedding highlights from 2011.

Here is a slideshow of wedding photos from 2011. Ive included allot of the posed portraits but there are also a nice selection of candid, reportage style shots too.

Nearly all wedding photos were taken around county Mayo & Sligo. As Im based in Westport, Mayo you will see quite a few of the weddings were taken around this area. Ballintubber abbey, Castlecourt hotel, Knockranny house hotel, mulranny park hotel, The Lodge at Ashford, Icehouse hotel, Mount Falcon Ballina and Belleek Castle were my most popular venues of 2011.

Michelle and Michael's wedding at Ballintubber Abbey and Westport Woods hotel, Mayo

A few photos from Michelle and Michael's wedding last Saturday in Ballintubber Abbey with reception at the Westport Woods hotel, Westport, Co Mayo.

Michelle and Michael were such a lovely couple to work with on their wedding day and I wish them a happy future together.

Ballintubber Abbey is definitely one of my most favorite churches when it comes to capturing wedding ceremonies as it is such a beautiful venue and has lovely grounds surrounding it (its also so close to me which is nice too). Ive been in Ballintubber Abbey quite a bit this year actually as you might see from some of the other posts on this blog from previous weddings.

Some of you may know that Westport Woods hotel has now acquired some new land behind the hotel and has now a lovely path down to the lake (well I think its a lake). This is fantastic news for photographers and people getting married in Westport Woods. It means that couples who want some outdoor photos somewhere nice dont have to take any detours between the Church and the hotel as that area behind the hotel is a perfect location.
